Position Summary:
An SQA Analyst service provider works to validate the solution against all requirement types. The SQA Analyst service provider has a good understanding of business, integration, and system requirements, and participates in all testing phases in the software development lifecycle. This can include functional, system, regression, integration, performance, and sanity testing, as well as assisting application users with user acceptance testing. The SQA Analyst service provider possesses knowledge of IT systems and testing tools, reporting and processes. They can liaise with business users, business analysts and technical resources in error diagnoses and problem resolution.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with other solution testers within the program to enhance and improve the testing process and tools and to maintain or improve the program standards in this area
Experience in developing and documenting test cases, test scenarios and manual test scripts
Review requirements and design documents
Write and maintain testing documentation
Execute software tests and report results
Assist developers in reproducing issues/defects;
Ensure entrance and exit criteria is established and accepted prior to test execution;
Execute test plans, test cases, test scenarios and test scripts according to system test plan and project schedule Document test results
Ongoing interaction with business analyst team to acquire clarification of business requirements of new and /or existing functionality
Available to assist with UAT processes and deliverables
Execute Defect tracking and reporting in the appropriate tool and format. Assist in evolving the standards to track and report defects and problems
Ability to report testing progress using approved status reporting mechanisms, templates on a predetermined frequency. Follow escalation plans to resolve issues in a timely manner
Strong problem solving skills
Broad testing knowledge and practical experience of industry standards, tools and techniques
Excellent communication skills oral and written. Ability to communicate with both business and technical audiences
Experience working on IT project(s) and in a team environment
Requirements
Specific Project Requirements:
Work alongside a technical agile group who are part of a larger program set up to deliver key functionality this year
Work in collaboration with the agile group to document test cases, update test plans in
Azure DevOps, create test coverage reports, work in collaboration with test automation group to automate as mush tests as possible
Work with other manual and automated testers
Skills:
Top Skills Required:
3-5 years experience in a similar or related role manual/automation testing
Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
Experience in testing web technologies, Mainframe applications
Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps as a test management framework
Other Skills Required:
Experience adapting to change quickly, multi-tasking and work under tight deadlines
Excellent investigative and analytical skills. Ability to translate broad, strategic intent into tactical plans and directions
Excellent communication skills oral and written. Ability to communicate with both business and technical audiences.
