Overview

This position will be physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP.

Under the supervision of the Pest Management Supervisor, the Pest Controller Lead is responsible to the assigned supervisor for performing their duties. The role involves assigning work to Pest Controllers and overseeing their tasks, ensuring safety practices are followed. Major responsibilities include providing pest management services in residential, commercial, and industrial settings, and operating industry-specific equipment safely and efficiently for LOGCAP V AOR. The candidate must be knowledgeable of laws related to the application of pesticides and herbicides, coordinate inspections with facility managers or occupants, research materials, prepare necessary documentation, and respond to emergency service calls during regular or on-call hours.

Responsibilities
  • Assigns work and oversees Pest Controllers' tasks.
  • Ensures safety practices are adhered to in all operations.
  • Provides pest management services across various sectors and operates relevant equipment safely.
  • Maintains knowledge of laws governing pesticide and herbicide application.
  • Coordinates inspections with facility personnel.
  • Researches materials and prepares documentation.
  • Responds to emergency calls during regular and after-hours.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; one year of related experience may substitute for one year of education.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Valid/current (DoD or State) Pesticide Applicator License.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years in the Pest Control field.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in computer systems related to job duties.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including temperatures exceeding 120°F.
  • Indoor and outdoor environments with harsh conditions, including hot, dry, desert environments with temperatures up to 130°F in summer and as low as 30°F in winter.
  • Industrial production environments may also be involved.

Physical Requirements:

  • Light physical work, exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required in certain situations.
  • Compliance with all fire and safety regulations.
