Overview

This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP.

Under the supervision of the Facility Operations & Maintenance, Trades Shop, the technician performs maintenance inspections, services, repairs, and overhauls of generator sets, steam cleaners, small engine-driven equipment, and other Special Purpose Equipment. Ensures work is completed and conforms to standards and requirements per Technical Manuals, Army Regulations, established processes, and local SOPs.

This role requires hands-on skills, supervisory capabilities, as well as communication and administrative skills.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time to meet program or company needs.

  1. Perform maintenance inspections, services, repairs, and overhauls of generator sets, small engine-driven equipment, and other Special Purpose Equipment.
  2. Ensure work is completed and meets standards and requirements according to Technical Manuals, Army Regulations, established processes, and local SOPs.
  3. Contribute to the development and implementation of continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance operations.
  4. Ensure all personnel, including subcontractors, comply with Environmental Safety and Health requirements.
  5. Adhere to company safety standards and promote a safety culture among employees and subcontractors.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Materials & Equipment Used:

  • Personal computer and related software.
  • Tools of the trade, vehicle, special equipment, and work materials.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred (must provide a copy).
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a host nation Driver's License.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience.

Skills:

  • Deep understanding of various diesel generator engine models.
  • Knowledge of power generation, engine maintenance, and minor overhauls.
  • Ability to interpret manufacturers' technical publications and wiring diagrams; skilled in operating and maintaining internal combustion engines and multipurpose test equipment.
  • Experience operating 2000kVA and smaller diesel engines from brands like Caterpillar, Cummins, Mitsubishi, and FG Wilson.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, utility standards, and safety programs (OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ANSI, NEC).
  • Proficient in English communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Collaborative work style, fostering cooperation and teamwork.
  • Good judgment and discretion.
  • Basic computer skills.

Working Environment:

  • Work is conducted indoors and outdoors, with potential exposure to extreme conditions including dust storms and high temperatures (up to 125°F). Extensive driving may be required depending on the location (up to 1.5 hours). Exposure to chemical or biological agents is possible; PPE must be used as required.
  • Normal workweek is 48 hours; overtime and shift work may be necessary.

Physical Activities:

  • Includes lifting, climbing, extended sitting or standing, and other physical efforts. Visual, hearing, and speech requirements are necessary.
