Essential Job Roles:

  1. Develop Category Strategy with senior buyer to achieve sales/profitability targets and maximize market share of the assigned category.
  2. Develop assortment frequently, including brands, products, and agencies, to ensure freshness and improve profitability.
  3. Regular planogram updates with the merchandising team to ensure effective display principles and sell-out of phased-out/display inventory.
  4. Train, coach, and develop team members to meet business requirements and support their personal growth.
  5. Implement promotional strategies through the team and support functions to meet business objectives; review promotional effectiveness and update the team.
  6. Develop advertising and marketing strategies; implement through marketing; review effectiveness and update the category team.
  7. Manage order and replenishment processes to ensure optimal inventory, availability, and control of aged stock.
  8. Support new product development and sourcing for own brands.
  9. Review and analyze market trends, conduct daily marketing reviews of core competition to ensure competitiveness in assortment and pricing.
  10. Collaborate with service and support teams to improve business processes and increase customer satisfaction.
  11. Develop online category and promotional strategies to ensure competitiveness and grow online business.
  12. Manage supplier relations, negotiate terms, and oversee promotional activities, ensuring timely payments.
  13. Oversee store layout, display, and space management via planograms and store visits.
  14. Conduct weekly visits to core stores and competitors with actionable follow-up shared with the wider team.
  15. Possess in-depth knowledge and experience in managing a consumer electronics category.
  16. Engage in professional development in retail strategy and category management.
  17. Exhibit excellent analytical skills to assess market needs and develop effective plans.
  18. Maintain excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  19. Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of SAP or Business Objects is preferred.
  20. Behavioral: Strong relationship-building skills, organizational leadership, drive, and follow-up capabilities.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business preferred.

Experience:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in electronic retailing, with a minimum of 4 years in category management.
