Job Summary:
The Trade Operations Specialist at Zad is responsible for overseeing all trade-related operations, ensuring efficient execution of trades, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of trading platforms, settlement processes, and financial market regulations. The incumbent will work closely with internal teams, external brokers, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth operations and risk mitigation.
- Key Responsibilities: Trade Execution & Settlement: Oversee the daily trade operations, ensuring accurate and timely execution, settlement, and reconciliation of trades.
- Monitor trade flows across different asset classes, including equities and ETFs.
- Ensure all trades are executed in line with company policies, compliance requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Investigate and resolve trade discrepancies, failed trades, or settlement issues in collaboration with counterparties and custodians.
- Maintain records of all trade activities and prepare reports for management.
- Operational Risk & Compliance: Ensure trade operations comply with CMA (Kuwait Capital Markets Authority) and SEC/FINRA (US) regulatory frameworks.
- Monitor adherence to AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and KYC (Know Your Customer) policies within trading operations.
- Identify potential risks related to trade operations and implement necessary controls to mitigate them.
- Coordinate with compliance teams to ensure regulatory reporting and audits are completed as required.
- Process Improvement & Automation: Collaborate with IT and technology teams to enhance the efficiency of trade workflows and automate manual processes.
- Assist in troubleshooting system issues related to trade execution, settlement, and reconciliation.
- Work on continuous process improvements to reduce errors, increase efficiency, and ensure a seamless trading experience for clients.
- Provide input for system upgrades and enhancements based on operational requirements.
- Client and Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between trading teams, brokers, custodians, and clearinghouses to ensure smooth trade processing.
- Coordinate with customer success teams to resolve client trade inquiries and issues in a timely manner.
- Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate trade reconciliations and fund transfers.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior team members within the operations department.
- Reporting & Analytics: Generate periodic reports on trade volumes, error rates, settlement efficiency, and operational risks.
- Track trade operations performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide management with insights on trading performance, operational challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
- Required Qualifications & Skills: Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in trade operations, settlements, or a related financial operations role.
- Experience working in brokerage firms, fintech companies, or investment institutions is preferred.
- Technical & Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of trading platforms, order execution, and settlement cycles.
- Familiarity with CMA, SEC, and FINRA regulations governing trade operations.
- Experience with financial market infrastructures (exchanges, clearinghouses, custodians).
- Proficiency in using trade order management systems, reconciliation tools, and reporting software.
- Knowledge of blockchain-based financial transactions and digital assets is a plus.
