Kuwait Airways is actively recruiting for the position of Expert, Passengers Services in the Ground Handling department. In this role your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Basic Function and Scope:
Plans, directs and coordinates an efficient OAL Passenger Services function at Kuwait Airport, covering handling passengers for other carriers' flights. This includes directing counter check-in activities, transit counter and releasing services, OAL baggage services for incoming passengers, supervising loading and offloading of ULDs as per loading instructions of OAL flights at the load control, and maintaining coordination relations with other carrier representatives, Airport government officials, and other KAC sections/departments to ensure the smooth handling of other carriers' flights at the airport.
Tasks and Duties:
- Provide work directions to passenger check-in counters for OAL at Kuwait Airport, for all regular and ad hoc flights. Ensure that counters are adequately manned during all other carrier flights, that OAL passenger services staff are properly trained, and have current information about the set standards and procedures of other carriers in specific and the aviation industry in general regarding ground handling passenger services.
- Receive and review a variety of airlines, IATA and OAL announcements, circulars, letters, telexes, etc. containing changes in flight schedules, routes, types of aircraft, fares; new visa requirements for Kuwait and other countries and other related information. Prepare instructions to Duty In-Charges and Group Leaders, pass circulars or other documents to them, and ensure new instructions are carried out for processing passengers of Other Carriers and their baggage to avoid potential problems, which may include lost revenue, serious inconvenience to passengers at foreign locations due to being incorrectly checked-in, probable deportation for visa/passport irregularities, and resulting fines for the airline concerned.
- Ensure the transit counter and staff are in place to facilitate the smooth and efficient movement of connecting passengers from incoming to outbound flights of Other Carriers at Kuwait Airport. Review various daily reports to verify the above and check on various inconveniences caused for OAL and rectify the same, use of First and Business Class lounges for OAL passengers and ensure proper service is provided while coordinating with the concerned department that proper billing format is applied for the smooth collection of charges.
- Oversee the releasing of Other Carriers flights at gate and ramp and ensure the proper number/level of staff are available for the anticipated flight departures and that all releasing coordination/procedures are efficiently carried out between his staff and other concerned sections from Operations, Engineering Departments, etc. Ensure flight departure schedules are maintained wherever possible advising the concerned section for any extra and ad-hoc flight operation. Monitor OAL flight reports on a regular basis and investigate serious or recurring incidents as necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Administration of Science or equivalent.
- 12 years' experience in passenger service including required training courses.
- Very good knowledge of English.
