We are hiring a Group Life Market Facing Underwriter for our Life department, Group Life Unit in our Kuwait branch

The Market Facing Underwriter ensures proper implementation of Underwriting Guidelines and Authority Limits. Puts in place strong controls and performs regular Risk Assessment and Quality Assurance reviews. Promotes the Motor Insurance and seeks new opportunities to maintain profitable growth. Ensures Motor Underwriting and Operations activities as per SLAs and processes. Gathers Market Intelligence and provides the Hub with regular updates on new products, rating trends, services, and technology to reshape the value proposition. Implements Motor Strategy and achieves objectives & budget (Top / bottom Line, KPI's). Follows closely with regulatory requirements and developments.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the group life insurance market, proactively building relationships with prospective clients and brokers.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to expand the client base and increase market share in the group life segment.
  • Present product options, benefits, and pricing to prospective clients, highlighting how group life policies can support their employee benefits programs.
  • Act as the primary liaison for brokers, agents, and clients, fostering strong relationships and ensuring ongoing engagement and satisfaction.
  • Address client inquiries and provide consultative advice on policy options, enhancements, and benefits, establishing yourself as a trusted advisor.
  • Proactively address changes in claims experience or market conditions by adjusting pricing and policy terms to retain profitable accounts.
  • Keep up-to-date with market trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes that may impact group life insurance offerings.
  • Use market insights to adapt underwriting strategies, pricing models, and product features, ensuring the company remains competitive.
  • Manage the renewal process for existing clients, working closely with clients/brokers to offer competitive pricing and terms that promote retention. Develop renewal proposals that emphasize value, respond to claims experience, and strengthen the relationship with each client.
  • Provide feedback from the market to inform product development and underwriting guidelines, helping tailor offerings to meet evolving client demands.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field.
  • CII Diploma/certificate is a plus.
  • MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Group Life Insurance, with the last three years in a similar managerial position in the intended country.
  • Demonstrable and successful sales track record.
  • Knowledge of local laws and practices.
