Foster Global Awareness and Analytical Excellence as Our High School Social Studies Teacher

Are you a dedicated educator passionate about cultivating informed, thoughtful citizens and preparing students for success in an interconnected world? As a High School Social Studies Teacher, you will empower students to think critically about historical and contemporary issues, develop a nuanced understanding of global systems, and excel in advanced academic environments, including the challenges of the AP program.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans that encompass history, government, economics, and global issues, fostering critical thinking, analysis, and communication skills.
  2. Develop curriculum that challenges students to explore complex economic, political, and social systems, promoting advanced understanding and responsible citizenship.
  3. Assess and evaluate student performance through various methods including assignments, presentations, debates, projects, and assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  4. Create a collaborative and intellectually stimulating classroom environment that encourages active participation, inquiry, and diverse perspectives.
  5. Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support student growth and address individual learning needs, especially within the demands of advanced coursework.
  6. Guide students in building sophisticated research, analysis, and presentation skills essential for higher education and future leadership roles.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education with a major in Social Studies, History, Political Science, Economics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a high school social studies teacher or similar role.
  • Strong communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with advanced placement (AP) coursework is highly preferred.
