Job description: IT business analyst (Credit Approval and Credit Risk)

Job Summary

The IT Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, defining, and documenting business requirements for technology solutions related to the company's credit approval and credit risk management processes. The successful candidate will work closely with credit analysts, risk managers, and IT teams to translate complex financial business needs into clear technical specifications, ensuring that software development aligns with strategic business goals and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Requirements analysis: Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements for credit approval workflow systems, credit scoring models, and risk reporting platforms.
• Process optimization: Evaluate and recommend improvements to existing credit processes and systems to enhance efficiency, reduce risk, and improve the user experience.
• System implementation: Support the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), from initial design to testing and deployment, to ensure that solutions accurately reflect business needs.
• Stakeholder collaboration: Serve as the primary liaison between credit and risk management teams and the IT department to ensure clear communication and alignment on project goals.
• Testing and validation: Create and execute test cases, including functional and user acceptance testing (UAT), for credit approval and risk systems.
• Data analysis: Analyze credit data to identify trends, gaps, and issues that may impact risk assessment and reporting. Write SQL queries and work with data teams to ensure data integrity.
• Regulatory compliance: Ensure that all credit risk systems and processes adhere to internal policies and external regulatory requirements, such as Basel III or IFRS 9.
• Reporting: Assist in generating credit risk reports and presentations for management and other stakeholders.

• Support and training: Provide functional support and training to end-users on new or updated credit systems and features.

• Experience:

• Minimum of 10-15 years of experience as a business analyst, preferably within the Banking / financial services industry.

• Experience on Core banking, lending, payments, online banking, or investment banking is crucial.

• Proven experience working on projects related to credit risk modeling, loan origination, credit approval workflows, or securitization.

• Technical skills:

• Strong proficiency in SQL for data analysis and validation.

• Familiarity with risk management software and statistical packages (e.g., SAS, Alteryx).
• Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

• Experience with Agile development methodologies.

• Financial knowledge:

• Solid understanding of credit risk principles (PD, LGD, EAD), financial statement analysis, and cash flow analysis.

• In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and their impact on credit risk reporting and compliance.
