Geotechnical Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Site Investigation: Conduct field investigations and inspections to gather data on soil, rock, and groundwater conditions. []
• Analysis & Design: Analyze geotechnical findings from field explorations and laboratory testing; design foundations, slopes, retaining walls, and other systems. []
• Risk Assessment: Assess risks related to foundations, slopes, and other geotechnical factors to ensure safety and stability. []
• Reporting: Prepare geotechnical reports and present findings to interdisciplinary teams. []
• Technical Advice: Provide recommendations regarding design, construction, or structural repairs. []
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant codes, standards, and environmental regulations. []
• Collaboration: Work alongside structural engineers, architects, and construction teams to integrate geotechnical considerations into projects. []

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics and geotechnical principles.
• Ability to conduct fieldwork and laboratory testing. []

Preferred:

• Experience with geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio).
• Internship or prior experience in geotechnical engineering. []

Skills

• Proficiency in geotechnical analysis and modeling.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and geotechnical testing methods.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills. []
