Job Description

Kuwait Airways is activity recruiting for the position of Specialist (A), Technical Library in the Operations department. In this role your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Basic Function and Scope:

Maintains and controls a wide variety of technical publications, documents, records, etc. Includes maintaining cardex and microfilm systems, receiving, recording and distributing technical documents, printing and distributing in-house documents, maintaining library shelves and files in proper order, etc.

Tasks and Duties:

a. Uses cardex, microfilm systems and standard library furnishings, to control a wide variety of technical documents, manuals, records, drawings, etc., which are required for proper and safe maintenance of KAC aircraft.

b. Receives lists from aircraft manufacturers which include detailed information of all manufacturers who have equipment fitted on KAC aircraft. Assigns identification reference numbers to all documents from manufacturers such as maintenance and overhaul manuals, parts catalogues, etc., so they can be properly recorded, filed and retrieved.

c. Receives revisions to all manuals supplied by airframe, engine and component manufacturers and ensures prompt and accurate incorporation of such revisions in the manuals.

d. Receives engineering bulletins from Chief Quality Controller or Manager Quality Control, print and distributes to engineering sections concerned. Also prints and distributes a variety of other documents such as Quality Control Procedures, local modifications, exposition documents, etc.

e. Ensures that all urgent bulletins, technical notices, modifications are immediately brought to the attention of supervisor, who duly informs Quality Control management.

a. Diploma in Library Science

b. Minimum 15 years' experience as a Technical Librarian
