DUTIES

Teach, organize and supervise water aerobics fitness classes for customers consisting of various age groups and abilities.
Teaching swimming techniques, swimming strokes, and water safety rules to customers with varying swimming abilities.
Instructs customers on effective workout methods; explains proper techniques, demonstrates exercises; identifies different muscle groups, and teaches appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles.
Developing and implementing swimming programs that focus on improving technique, stroke placement, speed, and style.
Educating customers on water safety and providing lifesaving training sessions.
Using a range of activities, music to improve water confidence.
Teaching swimming skills like flips, kicks, body rolls, floating, and breath control.
Identifying incorrect swimming techniques and correcting customers accordingly.
Ensuring the pool, lockers and training area is clean, well-maintained, and free of hazards.
Perform other/related duties as assigned.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

High school diploma.
Completed courses in swimming instruction, CPR, First Aid, and Water Safety Instructor or Basic Swim Instructor (BSI) certifications.
At least two (2-3) years of proven experience working as a swimming trainer.
Must demonstrate the ability to develop a swimming programs for diversified group of customers.
Ability to demonstrate effective water aerobic exercise skills and to communicate directions effectively.
Knowledge of safe exercise technique and able to incorporate music, tempo, techniques, and rhythm.
Maintains a professional attitude towards customers, fellow instructors and staff members.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
