Job Description

The Education Director will be responsible for assisting in creating and implementing a vision that leads to student improvement for all learners. This includes developing a shared vision of rigor and high expectations, ensuring the vision and mission drive school decisions, and confronting low expectations.

The ideal candidate will also conduct crucial conversations based on student performance data to enhance student learning. Additionally, they will assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring outcomes of school improvement plans and student achievement data to improve student learning.

They will create a safe, clean, orderly learning environment and collaborate with staff to achieve school improvement plan targets. The candidate will utilize current technologies to support leadership and management functions and align resources to improve teaching and learning.

This role involves working with and engaging staff in a shared vision for effective teaching and learning by implementing a standards-based curriculum relevant to student needs and interests. They will review instructional practices, create continuous improvement cycles, and implement data-guided decisions.

The Education Director will use disaggregated data, assist in selecting and retaining teachers that maximize student learning, and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and hold teachers accountable. They will ensure professional learning for teachers that enhances student learning and promote the use of technology to enhance student learning.

This position requires building and maintaining collaborative relationships, including creating, developing, and sustaining relationships that result in active student engagement in the learning process. The candidate will utilize meaningful feedback from students, staff, families, and the community in the evaluation of school programs and policies.

They will proactively engage families and communities in support of child's learning and school learning goals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the change process, strengthen collaboration with other schools, and develop professional learning networks within schools and local, regional, national, and international communities.
