The job entails performing field maintenance on laser range finders, ballistic computers, laser observation devices, laser designators, thermal imaging systems, periscopes, telescopes, commander's weapon station/auxiliary sights, aiming circles, image transfer assemblies, quadrants, mount assemblies, fire control support equipment, and test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). Additionally, the specialist will be responsible for determining the nature and extent of repairs required and replacing parts and assemblies as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert technical guidance on how to diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in fire control systems and related equipment at the field maintenance level.
- Determine the nature and extent of repairs required; disassemble and examine parts and assemblies for serviceability; replace parts and assemblies as required.
- Perform field maintenance on laser range finders, ballistic computers, laser observation devices, laser designators, thermal imaging systems, periscopes, telescopes, commander's weapon station/auxiliary sights, aiming circles, image transfer assemblies, quadrants, mount assemblies, fire control support equipment, and test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE).
- Assist other employees in the proper repair maintenance procedures and capabilities of related TMDE.
- Account for bench stock items including sensitive items.
- Perform QA/QC functions such as initial, in-process and final inspections in the absence of the Technical Inspector.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of work-related technical experience.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Able to function effectively with little to no guidance.
- High-level organizational and planning skills to ensure workflow is managed efficiently and accurately.
