Freight Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Freight & Logistics Analyst to join our operations team. The ideal candidate will contribute to business planning, participate in project work, and report on all operational activities such as KPIs, business volumes growth, process changes, etc.

Key Responsibilities

1. Process Efficiency: Oversee processes across divisions and bring efficiency by identifying areas of improvement and implementing effective solutions.
2. Reporting: Prepare and circulate daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and yearly reports for management, providing actionable insights that inform strategic decisions.
3. KPI Management: Manage and report KPIs across all divisions to the head, ensuring efficient operations and cost reduction.
4. Process Improvement: Improve freight, custom clearance, and delivery flow processes by creating SOPs and SLAs, streamlining operations and enhancing customer satisfaction.
5. Tender Reporting: Make reports for tender awarding after bidding processes are over on quarterly, half-yearly, and yearly tenders, working towards reducing landing costs.
6. Freight Bookings: Report on freight bookings of shipments regularly to management based on projections given and actual loadings, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation of goods.

Candidate Requirements

1. Experience: Require 2+ years of experience in Freight, Supply Chain, and logistics reports and analytics, with a proven track record of delivering results-oriented solutions.
2. Educational Background: A degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or other quantitative fields from a reputable university; a strong academic record.
3. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills; should be capable of identifying and interpreting key business drivers, making informed decisions that drive business growth.
4. Customs Knowledge: Basic knowledge of the workings of customs departments, shipping lines, and freight forwarders is desirable, with the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
5. Software Proficiency: Previous experience with Cargowise1 & Tableau is required, with expertise in data visualization and reporting tools.
6. Interpersonal Skills: Self-starter, able to work across functions and in teams, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Language Skills: Fluency in English; strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas simply and effectively.
8. Technical Skills: Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to create engaging presentations and reports.
9. Additional Qualifications: Software programming will be an added advantage, with the ability to develop innovative solutions using various programming languages.
10. Leadership Skills: Solutions provider and quick learner, with the ability to guide and train team members in their day-to-day work to make work processes efficient.
11. Presentation Skills: Good interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
