Job Summary


As a Technical Inspector, you will be responsible for monitoring, inspecting, analyzing, and examining small arm weapons and complex small arm weapon systems, including crew-served weapon systems consisting of machine guns, launchers, and mortar systems, along with components as applicable at the field/sustainment maintenance level.


Key responsibilities include determining the nature and extent of repairs required, disassembling, examining parts and assemblies as required, reassembling, and adjusting components.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing armament systems, with expert knowledge of technical and commercial manuals for servicing, operational, and repair. Additionally, they must be proficient in all phases of paperwork pertaining to services, maintenance, repairs, classification, etc.


Responsibilities



  • Perform field/sustainment level initial, in-progress, and final inspections on fire control system components, towed artillery fire control systems, self-propelled artillery fire control systems, tank fire control systems, small arms, other weapons, and towed artillery.
  • Verify/Perform Borescope and Pullover Gauging.

Qualifications



  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Formal training (completion of MOS 91 F or G course conducted under the auspices of the U. S. Army Ordnance School) mandatory.

Working Environment


Work is generally conducted indoors but can also be done outdoors with potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions. The ideal candidate must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, and published Company work rules.


Physical Activities


Work may require lifting very heavy objects, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents could exist.

Job Requirements



  • 8-10 years of experience in Armament systems maintenance.
  • Expert knowledge of Technical and Commercial manuals for Servicing, Operational and Repair.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, service, and repair Armament Systems.
  • Must be proficient in all phases of the paperwork that pertains to the Services, maintenance, repairs, classification, etc.
  • Expert knowledge of the maintenance prints to establish workload priority.
  • Expert knowledge of Load Test procedures and processes.
  • Expert knowledge of equipment operations as it is critical to working as a master driver for that shop.
  • Expert knowledge of The Army Maintenance Management System.
  • Knowledgeable of Laser and other HAZMAT (i.e., Tritium, Thorium) control/safety requirements.
