Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Pharma Sales Leader to lead our sales teams across Kuwait and Bahrain.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for motivating and leading high-performing teams to achieve ambitious sales objectives, accelerating new product launches, and driving business growth in the region. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing territory plans that align with company objectives, identifying key customers, strategies, and tactics to drive sales growth.
  • Achieving targets through strong financial performance and operational commitments, prioritizing resource allocation to maximize ROI.
  • Leading cross-functional teams to win tenders, maximize advocacy, and increase consumption, establishing and developing strong relationships with key stakeholders.

As a leader, you will be expected to create a culture of trust, embracing diversity and fostering collaboration between team members and internal stakeholders. You will also be responsible for attracting, recruiting, developing, and retaining talent, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations, and conducting yourself in a professional and highly ethical manner consistent with company policy.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in the GCC region, with a proven track record of success.
  • Prior people management experience is essential.
  • Prior experience in both primary care and acute care markets is preferred, as well as leadership skills to drive performance and build an inclusive, diverse, and collaborative team culture.

The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen, analytical skills, strategic thinking, execution excellence, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, customer management and engagement skills, cross-functional collaboration, proactivity, coaching, ownership, accountability, transparency, and courage to speak up. Additionally, you must be able to work under pressure, adapt to a fast-paced dynamic environment, and embrace change. Fluency in English and Arabic (oral and written) is required, with approximately 20% travel time.

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $120,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus additional benefits such as health insurance, retirement plan, and opportunities for career growth and development.
