This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to leverage their expertise in network design, engineering, and project management.
About the Role:
- Design, plan, and implement telecommunications networks, including fiber optic, microwave, and other communication systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution and high-quality deliverables.
- Maintain and troubleshoot existing networks, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Develop and manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation plans.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Outside Plant/Inside Plant (OSP/ISP) project management, quality control, and final testing for all information management directorate telecom projects.
- Conduct OSP/ISP provisioning and maintenance of design drawings.
- Provide direct assistance for overall maintenance of ISP installations, new equipment, network, data center, WAN, and LAN hardware, systematic upgrades as required.
- Research local power code and policies to integrate into network design process.
- Conduct proposed project site surveys.
- Examine 'As-Built' plans and test results, reviewing drawings of all underground and above ground elements, ensuring construction and engineering requirements met, applying approved technologies and architectures to specific requirements.
- Provide engineering guidance on telecommunication, CCTV, CATV, intrusion detection system issues, ensuring infrastructure properly installed to take care of communication needs.
- Identify and rectify OSP/ISP-related engineering problems with innovative solutions, developing construction designs and/or drawings.
- Perform root cause analysis on communication issues, researching methods to increase connectivity efficiency.
- Provide proposed project cost estimates, material lists/bill of materials recommendations, and design.
- Plan, design, implement, and troubleshoot telecommunication systems, network, and plant facilities, defining plans for new plant construction and/or modification of existing facilities.
- Plan, design, and troubleshoot small to large telecommunication networks consisting of Microwave, fiber optics, Private Branch Exchange (PBX), LANs, encryption, etc.
- Assist with vendor selection, working with vendors to obtain quotations, responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) by developing technical documentation, graphical artwork, and material lists.
- Provide support and consulting to internal customers on voice communications-related issues and services, such as adds/moves/changes to existing communications networks.
- Produce accurate telecommunications network diagrams in 2D or 3D, within time constraints.
- Research and maintain understanding of various telecommunication products and services, protective distribution systems (PDS) and Panduit systems.
- Extensive contact with external service providers of Microwave, Power, Fiber Optic, and other communication vendors.
- Provide support and consulting to customers on subsurface site survey-related issues and services, such as routing or changes in direction or location.
