The role of the Site Safety and Health Officer is to ensure that operations, engineering, and electrical inspection/repair activities are conducted in compliance with applicable Federal, Industry and Client safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement and manage a program safety plan in accordance with EM 385-1-1 Safety and Health Requirements Manual and the TF SAFE Accident Prevention Plan.
- Positively interface between the Client and the Contractor's project teams and resources.
- Implement accident and loss prevention programs.
- Conduct regular safety audits of sites to prevent incidents.
- Conduct daily safety meetings with on-site personnel (toolbox talks).
- Develop plans, procedures and programs to meet the specific safety needs of Versar.
- Maintain records of training activities and employee programs, monitoring their effectiveness.
- Maintain records and reporting systems on lost time accidents and property losses.
- Identify loss producing conditions and practices, recommending appropriate corrective action.
- Develop training manuals and training aids for internal use and be able to train employees on fundamentals of the Accident Prevention Program.
- Assist in the creation of Activity Hazard Analysis.
- Support and comply with all components of the Accident Prevention Program.
- Investigate and keep record of all incidents, injuries, near misses, etc. and submit proper documentation to the TF SAFE PM.
