Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Operations Manager to join our team at Vectrus, Inc. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for managing maintenance operations, performing inspections, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

About the Job:

The Technical Inspector will be responsible for conducting inspections, troubleshooting issues, and validating repair actions. They will also monitor maintenance technical data, examine parts and components, and classify equipment for disposal.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage maintenance operations, including planning, coordinating, and executing maintenance activities.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues with maintenance equipment, validate repair actions, and perform inspections.
  • Monitor maintenance technical data, including documentation, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Examine parts and components for conformance to equipment specifications and determine serviceability.
  • Classify equipment for disposal in accordance with Army regulations and verify equipment condition codes.
  • Perform assessments and submit required ECOD paperwork and findings.
  • Determine type and quantity of material needed for repairs or fabrication, order required materials, and initiate, submit, and follow up on work orders for deadline equipment.
  • Assist in coaching subordinates in ensuring adherence to current Internal Operating Procedures (IOP) and quality regulations.
  • Evaluate personnel, including verification of skills, training, and experience.
  • Ensure quality control of all processes and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Conduct audits and inspections of work centers and ongoing maintenance actions, procedures, equipment, and facilities.
  • Perform testing and certification of equipment and material during load testing processes.
  • Proficient in proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
  • Enforce safety protocols in daily activities.
  • Perform other qualified duties as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience Requirements:
    • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; prior military training in Maintenance and Supply management or civilian equivalent is preferred.
    • The ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Kuwait Heavy Driver's License is required.
    • GCSS-A certification is desired; if no certification, must successfully complete web-based or in-person training courses within 90 days of assuming position.
    • MOS or civilian trade qualification in US Army MOS 63B Wheel Mechanic or equivalent is preferred.
    • Ability to obtain host nation driver license.
    • Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a CAC.
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of five (5) years' experience in Automotive Repair, Shop operations, Commercial Equipment, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
    • A minimum of two (2) years' experience as a Technical Inspector is required.
  • Skills:
    • Possess technical expertise to identify different repair requirements related to Automotive Equipment.
    • Expert knowledge of Technical and Commercial manuals for Servicing, Operational, and Repair procedures.
    • Ability to ensure that only corrected equipment is used after clearance by shops.
    • Full knowledge of TMDE and its proper usage.
    • Proficiency in how the repair parts system works and what to do when it doesn't work correctly.
    • Proficiency in all phases of paperwork pertaining to services, maintenance, repairs, classification, etc.
    • Expert knowledge of maintenance prints to establish workload priority.
    • Expert knowledge of Load Test procedures and processes.
    • Expert knowledge of equipment operations critical to working as a master driver for that shop.
    • Capable of giving and receiving instructions to the workforce in Shops.
    • Ability to inspect, check, and test all types of Automotive Equipment.
    • Knowledgeable of GCSS-Army is preferred.
  • Working Conditions:
    • Capable of working in extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in winter and 130 degrees in summer months).
    • Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
    • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
    • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
    • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
