Electrical Equipment Installation and Repair Technician

We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team. As an Electrical Equipment Installation and Repair Technician, you will be responsible for installing new electrical equipment and systems, as well as performing maintenance and repairs on existing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install new electrical equipment and systems as required, ensuring that installations meet technical specifications and safety regulations.
  • Run electrical wiring and conduit, install circuit breakers, panels, and other electrical infrastructure as needed.
  • Test new installations to ensure proper operation and safety.
  • Perform electrical maintenance and repairs on various equipment and systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and develop preventative maintenance plans.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure electrical systems are integrated seamlessly.
  • Maintain accurate records of electrical work and inspections.
  • Comply with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety among the team.
  • Respond to electrical emergencies, such as power outages or equipment failures, and take appropriate action to restore power and ensure safety.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with additional relevant electrical certifications or licenses, such as a Journeyman Electrician License.
  • At least 3 years of experience as an Electrician with land-based drilling rigs and familiarity with rig-specific electrical systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and equipment used in industrial or oil and gas settings.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions and environments.
