Job OverviewAmericana Foods is seeking an experienced Materials Planner to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:- Supply Chain Optimization: Oversee the process from purchase requisition issuance to goods shipment verification, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted supply chain operation.
- Procurement Management: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and effective procurement of materials, monitor inventory levels, and forecast material needs based on production schedules and demand.
- Delivery Coordination: Schedule and coordinate deliveries of raw materials and supplies to ensure uninterrupted production flow, collaborate with logistics to track shipments, and resolve any delivery issues.
- Supplier Evaluation: Assess the quality and suitability of materials upon delivery, ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards, conduct regular evaluations of supplier performance, and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, usage rates, and reorder points, implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and reduce costs, and work closely with production, quality assurance, and procurement teams to align material planning with production needs.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present reports on material usage, supplier performance, and inventory levels to management, maintain documentation related to material specifications, supplier agreements, and compliance records.
- Bachelor's Degree in supply chain management, engineering, or a related field.
- Proficient in procurement processes, ERP systems (e.g., Oracle), and procurement software (e.g., Coupa) preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- At least 3-4 years of experience in procurement or supply planning, focusing on planning.
- Analytical: Strong data analysis and decision-making skills.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication, strong interpersonal skills.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and drive process improvements.
- Problem-Solving: Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
