**Job Description:**

The locksmith will install, repair, modify, and open various locking mechanisms found on doors, desks, compartments, mobile equipment, safes, and vaults. This role requires examining locking mechanisms, installing new units, or disassembling them to replace worn parts, or repairing existing ones by filing, drilling, chiseling, and grinding.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair various types of safes using hand tools, lathes, drill presses, and welding equipment with cutting apparatus.
  • Install and repair locks, including mechanical and electronic cipher locks.
  • Change combinations by inserting new tumblers into locks and establish keying systems for buildings.
  • Make new or duplicate keys using a key cutting machine and provide training to customers on setting their own lock combinations.
  • Disassemble mechanical or electrical locking devices, repair or replace worn tumblers, springs, and other parts using hand tools.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; one year of related experience may be substituted for one year of education if a degree is required.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a valid Secret Clearance is essential.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a host nation Driver's License are required.
  • At least four years of experience as a locksmith are necessary.
