Job Description:

As a skilled Ground Support Equipment Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for diagnosing malfunctions and repairing Ground Support Equipment.

The ideal candidate will have three (3) years of experience in the last Six (6) years in Aviation GSE, with actual and recent experience in the repair, modification, maintenance, and overhaul of related equipment and their associated components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and approve completed maintenance actions, solve repair problems by studying drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics, and technical publications.
  • Use automated maintenance data systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions.
  • Analyze, diagnose, and repair GSE using conventional and digital multi-meters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, circuit card testers, transistor testers, and hand tools.
  • Maintain external fuel and grounding systems.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GSE - Inspect, test, and operate GSE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation.
  • Service equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test equipment, and technical publications.
  • Disassemble and assemble malfunctioning GSE accessories and components.
  • Remove, disassemble, repair, clean, treat for corrosion, assemble, and reinstall GSE components and accessories.
  • Prepare GSE for storage and mobility deployment; operate, clean, inspect, and service GSE towing vehicles.
  • Maintain vehicle records and update paper and electronic equipment records.
  • Provide dispatch service for GSE, including positioning equipment to support aircraft maintenance and flying operations.
  • Practice good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage prevention, and safety at all times.
  • Perform other qualified duties as requested.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • U.S. Military Technical school or specialized training course is desired.
  • Valid U.S. Passport required, and be able to travel internationally with minimum 6 Blank pages and Two (2) plus years' validity on passport expiration date at the time of hiring.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility Public Trust NAC-I. US Citizenship is required for facility Public Trust NAC-I at this work location.
  • Able to pass CENTCOM Medical requirements for deployment.
  • Must be able to Obtain a Kuwait Visa.
Knowledge and Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Knowledge of inspection, servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of ground support equipment.
  • Knowledge of military publications (including electronic manuals), drawings, blueprints, microfilm, diagrams, and schematics is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of military and/or company forms required by work assignments.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects and lead teams through complex aircraft relevant tasks.
  • May be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.
Physical Requirements:

You will need to be able to:

  • Walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day.
  • Climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
  • Crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee, and reach above/below shoulders.
  • Lift heavy objects whose weight may exceed 50 pounds.
  • Typing using a standard keyboard to communicate through various software applications.
  • Handle dirty parts and lubricants and be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification.
  • Operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, etc.
  • Lift/push/pull minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Work in a shop where the environment is drafty, noisy, and dirty.
  • Be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment and electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts or vehicles.
  • Work in austere environments and all-weather conditions.
