Head Chef Assistant

As a key member of our culinary team, you will assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of a chef de partie or section chef. You will rotate through sections such as sauce, vegetables, fish, and butchery every six months.
Educational Requirements
We require a professional certificate and 2-6 years of experience in Continental cuisine.
The salary for this position is competitive.
This role is within the Restaurant/Hospitality industry.
There are currently 15 openings available.
Main Responsibilities
- You will report any maintenance issues to the Head Chef immediately.
- You will comply with all Goodwood policies and procedures to ensure that all statutory regulations are observed.
- You will comply with the conditions of the food hygiene policies.
- You will be flexible and willing to help other departments at busy times if required.
- You will ensure good hygiene and health and safety always.
- You will prepare ingredients for the team.
- You will measure dish ingredients and portion sizes.
- You will help with deliveries of stock.
- You will support the Demi Chef de Partie in the daily operation and work.
- You will work according to the menu specifications by the Chef de Partie.
- You will keep your work area in hygienic conditions according to the rules set by the hotel.
- You will control food stock and food cost in your section.
- You will prepare the daily mis-en-place and food production in different sections of the main kitchen or satellites.
- You will follow the instructions and recommendations from your immediate Superiors to complete the daily tasks.
- You will ensure the highest standards and consistent quality in the daily preparation and keep up to date with new products, recipes, and preparation techniques.
- You will coordinate and participate with other sections on requirements and cleanliness.
