Job Title: System Administrator Tier III

Job Overview

The System Administrator Tier III position involves maintaining and operating a computer system and/or network. To excel in this role, you will require a deep understanding of deploying information systems, managing, and troubleshooting Windows Active Directory, Group Policy Object (GPOs), and Domain Name Service (DNS). Familiarity with Microsoft operating systems such as Windows 2008(R2) and Windows Server 2003 is also essential.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Familiarity with system deployment, management, and troubleshooting of messaging protocols and operations with Microsoft Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2010 products
  • Knowledge of backup technologies specifically Symantec backup exec and NetApp SIPR/NIPR Access Point (SNAP) manager utilities
  • Proficient with reviewing and deploying vendor updates for security patches
  • Familiarity with storage technologies such as Storage Area Network (SAN) or Network Attached Storage (NAS)
  • Knowledge and familiarity with server performance tuning and monitoring tools
  • Proficient with server configuration and management tools (Microsoft System Center Operations manager (SCOM) and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM))
  • Network troubleshooting skills and knowledge of networks
  • Technical documentation skills
  • Knowledge and familiarity of action plans for planned and unplanned changes to the network infrastructure

  • Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance (Interim Secret Clearance is acceptable)

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a military environment
