About the Job

American International University is seeking a dynamic and engaged Scientific Laboratory Manager to oversee all labs on campus. This includes labs taught by faculty from the School of Arts and Sciences, School of Engineering, and School of Architecture and Design.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Purchasing and managing lab supplies to ensure optimal functionality.
  2. Evaluating the performance of lab technicians and implementing necessary improvements.
  3. Collaborating with faculty to develop lab schedules that meet academic needs.
  4. Developing and enforcing lab safety policies to maintain a secure working environment.
  5. Overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of lab equipment to prevent downtime.
  6. Preparing and submitting budgets for new equipment and resources.
  7. Establishing standard operating procedures for each lab to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  8. Coordinating annual training for lab technicians and instructors.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in laboratory supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a supervisory role with a focus on scientific laboratories.
  • Ongoing education in laboratory management and safety practices.
  • Master's degree or higher in a related field.
