Job Description

The role of the HVAC Specialist involves installation, inspection, maintenance, and trouble-shooting of industrial HVAC-R equipment. This requires a high level of technical expertise and knowledge of refrigeration systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspecting HVAC-R systems and components to evaluate condition and identify necessary repairs and preventive maintenance;
  • Fabricating equipment parts to meet specialty needs and/or replace unavailable parts;
  • Installing HVAC-R equipment and systems;
  • Repairing HVAC-R systems and/or components;
  • Coordinating with foreman/supervisor in completing projects and work orders efficiently;
  • Preparing written reports for documenting activities and/or conveying information;
  • Requesting equipment and supplies to maintain correct inventory amounts and ensure availability of items required to complete installations and/or repairs;
  • Responding to emergency situations during or after hours to resolve immediate safety concerns;
  • Attending meetings, workshops, and trainings to gather information required to perform job functions efficiently;
  • Adhering to standards, policies, and procedures;

Qualifications

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field;
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in refrigeration, plant control, troubleshooting, and corrective/preventive maintenance of all kinds of freezer & chiller;

Skills and Proficiencies

  • Ability to operate power tools, gauges, and diagnostic or specialized equipment;
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, sketches, manuals, or work orders;
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions;
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with co-workers, architects/engineers, and other professionals;
  • Ability to maintain simple records and prepare accurate reports;
