Fire and Emergency Services Training Program Manager

As a Fire and Emergency Services (FES) Training Program Manager at Vectrus, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organization's fire department. Reporting directly to the Assistant Fire Chief - Training, you will oversee the administration of our training program within the FES department. About the Job

You will be responsible for directing a professional team, evaluating staff performance, and developing training programs that meet DODM 6055.06 DoD Fire and Emergency Services Certification Program requirements. Additionally, you will work closely with department officers and other leaders to create training programs aligned with NFPA, Army, and applicable regulations. Your duties will include performing needs analyses, developing job performance requirements, lesson plans, training schedules, instructional methods, and instructional media and curriculum, as well as coordinating training efforts with shift personnel, Army agencies, and local emergency response agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct a professional team encompassing various functions within the discipline.
- Evaluate staff performance by comparing objectives and achievements.
- Develop and implement training programs to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Work with department officers and leaders to create training programs aligned with NFPA, Army, and applicable regulations.
- Perform needs analyses and develop job performance requirements, lesson plans, training schedules, instructional methods, and instructional media and curriculum.
- Coordinate training efforts with shift personnel, Army agencies, and local emergency response agencies.
Requirements and Qualifications
To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
- A minimum of five years' experience as a firefighter working on a DOD installation.
- A minimum of two years' experience as a Pro-Board/IFSAC fire and emergency services certification curriculum instructor.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
- Certifications for Training Officer Specialist from a reputable certification delivery agency, such as the University of Texas A&M - Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), are preferred.
Physical Requirements
This role requires heavy work, involving exertion of up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The worker may be subject to extreme heat, noise, and hazards, including moving mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, working at heights, and exposure to high temperatures or chemicals.
