Seeking a seasoned logistics management expert to serve as the Chief, Logistics Management office, and principal advisor to the District Commander on all aspects of logistic management.

About the Role

This is a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 1 year by a current permanent Army employee. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing logistics plans, preparing and managing logistics operations and site budgets, planning and coordinating logistics services and programs, managing and overseeing supply, transportation and maintenance programs, and advising on logistical matters.

Responsibilities
  • Serves as the Chief, Logistics Management office, and the principal advisor to the District Commander on all aspects of logistic management.
  • Keeps supervisor routine apprised of the status and progress of program activities.
  • Briefs Commander to clear proposed actions of an unusually controversial nature or which may have significant local impact.
  • Plans and develops directives; establishes and maintains policies and procedures for District logistics management programs.
  • Maintains liaison with operating officials to provide advisory services.
  • Performs staff visits and inspections to field activities to provide technical assistance and to monitor status of program execution in all areas of logistics management.
  • Establishes program goals and objectives for subordinates and sets priorities.
  • Manages development of policy and program changes to meet changing conditions in program requirements and funding related to specific missions.
Requirements
  • Must be able to satisfy the requirements of the DODI 1400.25 V1230, Do D Civilian Personnel Management System: Employment in Foreign Areas and Employee Return Rights.
  • PASSPORT AND VISA - This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain an official US passport and VISA as applicable based on duty location.
  • SECURITY CLEARANCE - This position has been designated as non-critical sensitive as defined in DOD 5200.2-R. The incumbent is required to possess or obtain and maintain, for the duration of employment, a Secret security clearance.
  • IMMUNIZATION SCREENING - This position requires immunization with the complete Anthrax vaccination series and subsequent annual boosters.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience in develop logistics plans, prepare and manage logistics operations and site budgets, plan and coordinate logistics services and programs, manage and oversee supply, transportation and maintenance programs, advise on logistical matters regarding planning, setting priorities and coordinating work of subordinates. Specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Benefits

Salary $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Position may require employee to wear uniform and/or protective clothing. Supervisory probationary period may be required. Overseas unaccompanied tour. Family members (spouse, children) will not be allowed to accompany the selectee to the duty location of this position.
