We are seeking a skilled Inside Plant Specialist to join our team. As an Inside Plant Specialist, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing telecommunications cabling media throughout the facility.
- You will install and terminate Category 5 & 6 UTP, coaxial, telephone and fiber optic cables at designated workstations and MDF distribution frames.
- You will operate power tools and hand tools as outlined in the performance work statement to complete mission requirements.
- You will troubleshoot and correct copper and fiber optic cable problems, including lack of continuity, noise, signal loss and degradation, improper termination, excessive loss and intermittent problems.
You will also prepare telecommunications MDFs to function as central and secondary interconnection points for telecommunications cabling networks, and provide service at demarcation MDFs to transfer customer end user service over to the OSP Outside Plant Department.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the installation and repair of LAN/PABX communication facilities, and a strong understanding of telecommunications cabling systems.
You will work closely with other teams to ensure seamless execution of projects and excellent customer satisfaction.
In addition to technical skills, you should possess excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.
