Aircraft Mechanic Job Description

The UH-60 Aircraft Mechanic performs a wide range of military tactical aircraft maintenance tasks, ensuring the airworthiness and reliability of aircraft systems. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting routine inspections and maintenance checks to identify and address any issues with aircraft components.
  • Repairing and replacing damaged or worn-out parts, including engines, rotors, transmissions, and flight controls.
  • Troubleshooting malfunctions in aircraft systems, such as hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and electrical systems.
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and logging all repairs and inspections performed on aircraft.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A valid FAA A&P certificate (preferably) or relevant aviation experience and education.
  • At least two years of experience in aviation maintenance, with specific knowledge of rotary-wing aircraft and their systems.
  • Familiarity with UH-60 aircraft maintenance procedures and technical documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot complex issues.
