Job Description

This role will be physically located in Kuwait to support the LOGCAP program.

Under the general guidance of the IT Technical Inspector, Sr., perform initial, in-progress, and final inspections of communication projects on military and contracting installations.

  • Conduct initial, in-progress, and final inspections on new infrastructure, current projects, and existing communication installations.
  • Operate test equipment for quality inspection, checking grounding.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors, Engineers, and Operations on all projects.
  • Maintain site survey documentation and ensure drawings are updated for each project.
  • Create freehand sketches of designs; trace finished drawings onto designated paper for reproduction.
  • Utilize AutoCAD to communicate detailed drawings and designs when required.
  • Inspect/oversee the work of assigned Sub-Contracts/Sub-Contractors.
  • Enforce safety policies in daily activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
  • Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if a degree is required.
    • High School Diploma.
    • Telecommunication Degree Preferred.
    • Familiarity with Fiber optic and copper cable installation.
    • A working knowledge of cabling diagrams, manholes, hand holes, and ducting systems.
    • Military or civilian technical training and/or experience as a technical inspector desirable.
    • Certification by an accredited organization and/or equipment manufacturer at the journeyman level desirable.
    • Certified AutoCAD preferred.
    • Able to obtain host country driver's license.
    • Must meet requirements outlined in AR 25-2 for NIPRNET access.
    • Customer service, DOD Information Assurance Awareness, and Cross Domain Violation Training required.
  • Experience:
    • Approximately 2 - 3 years' work experience as Technical Inspector.
    • Approximately 3 years' experience in communication installation.
    • Knowledge in communication infrastructure and cabling system.
    • Familiarity with manhole duct assignment and measuring distance on maps.
    • Understanding of Protective Distribution System (PDS).
    • Able to read map overlay and design, diagrams, and technical manuals.
    • Familiar with North American or International Telecommunications Standards - Building Industry Consulting Services.
    • Familiar with International Telecommunications Distribution Methods Manual (BICSI-TDMM), National Electrical Codes, and National Electrical Safety Codes, or their equivalent.
  • Skills:
    • A professional demeanor; ability to work effectively with all levels of employees, including top, middle, and supervisory levels of military and civilian management.
    • Customer service training; able to exercise discretion and good judgment.
    • Collaborative work style that fosters cooperation and teamwork.
    • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
    • High-level organizational and planning skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written.
    • Ability to analyze and solve technical drawings for communication infrastructure.
    • Able to give and receive detailed technical instructions.
    • Ability to work under short suspense.
    • Capable of effectively communicating technical information in English, both written and verbal.
    • Excellent Customer service skill sets.
