Job Summary

As a Biomedical Equipment Specialist at LxbfYeaa, you will be responsible for providing technical support for the installation, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintenance of medical, imaging, scientific, dental, and physiotherapy section's instruments/equipment, medical gas. You will be responsible for performing installation and planning, calibration, repair, preventive maintenance, upgrades of biomedical equipment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Prepares detailed technical specifications for the procurement, support, and special equipment to be installed.
  • Responsible for installation (pre & post) of all biomedical equipment as per all international & manufacturer safety standards, software, and give live demonstration to staff.
  • Responsible and make sure that all the machines & equipment installed in the hospital as per all international, manufacturer, MOH standards, and store a data/report about them in the computer.
  • Safekeeping operator and service manuals/CD/DVDs, Software CD/DVDs or any related accessories or parts or calibrating tools.
  • As per guidance by the Head of Biomedical Engineering to be consultant for suppliers of spare parts, following the medical and service contracts and dealing with companies and suppliers of medical equipment and making comparison between them to provide it to the hospital administrator.
  • To ensure quality control for all medical equipment being used in the hospital as per international safety standard.
  • Also providing or arrange time to time operator or application training to equipment users and ensure all patient safety is met as per the international standards.
  • To take a good care of the biomedical equipment by doing a daily maintenance check, take immediate actions on maintenance requests received and working as a team with the maintenance supervisor & technician.
  • Aim for continuous development and improvement to reach high level of technology.
  • Provide input in department as per guideline used of medical equipment on the preparation of policies and procedures addressing standard supplies of all biomedical equipment.
  • Responsible for any medical equipment taken out of the hospital for maintenance, the same should be informed to the coordinator.
  • Responsible to train the staff in the hospital to use the medical equipment in the right manner and to maintain them in good condition.
  • Responsible to safe keep all Bio-medical testing equipment and follow up the calibration as per manufacturer recommendations.
  • Ensures quality and patient safety practices are followed.
  • Provides or promotes people centered care.
  • Promotes inclusive health by providing equitable and accessible care to patients and families with special needs.
  • Responsible to attend off duty calls as per the Hospital policy.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned.
  • Attend Accreditation meetings and participate in the Team to provide Feedbacks related to Biomedical if required.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Bio-Medical Engineering/Electronics/Electrical.
  • 5 to 6 years' experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Proficiency in English Language, Arabic would be an added advantage.
  • Good Computer skills.
