Job Description

The Technical Inspector position at V2X Inc is a crucial role in our maintenance operations. As a Technical Inspector, you will be responsible for performing inspections on various types of military, commercial, and other forms of Automotive equipment. You will work under the supervision of the Material Maintenance Manager & Technical Inspector Lead to ensure that all equipment meets the required standards.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot problems/incidents, validate repair actions, perform initial, in-progress, and final inspections.
  • Notify Supervisors when unable to solve or correct issues according to established policies and management guidance.
  • Examine parts and components for conformance to equipment specifications, determine serviceability, and affix completed appropriate forms/tags for disposition.
  • Monitor timeliness and applicability of maintenance technical data and technical library.
  • Review maintenance source documents, inspection records, note recurring discrepancies or trends, and initiate appropriate action.
  • Initiate and review quality deficiency reports, technical deficiency reports, and hazardous material reports, ensuring accuracy, clarity, conciseness, and comprehensiveness.
  • Determine equipment disposal classification according to Army regulations and verify equipment condition codes.
  • Perform assessments and submit required Estimated Cost of Damages (ECOD) paperwork and findings.
  • Determine type and quantity of material and order material required to perform repairs or fabrication according to customer work requests.
  • Assist in coaching subordinates to ensure compliance with current Internal Operating Procedures (IOP) and quality regulations.
  • Evaluate personnel, including verification of skills, training, and experience.
  • Ensure quality control of all processes and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Perform audits and inspections of work centers and ongoing maintenance actions, procedures, equipment, and facilities.
  • Test and certify equipment and material during Load Testing Process.
  • Handle and dispose of hazardous materials and waste properly.
  • Enforce safety in daily activities.
  • Perform other qualified duties as requested.

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
    • High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior military training in Maintenance and Supply management or civilian equivalent preferred.
    • The ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operators License and Kuwait Heavy Drivers License are required.
    • GCSS-A certification desired. If no certification, must successfully complete web-based or in-person training courses within 90 days of assuming position.
    • MOS or civilian trade qualification in US Army MOS 63B Wheel Mechanic or equivalent preferred.
    • Ability to obtain host nation driver license.
    • Must be CAC eligible and/or ability to obtain a CAC.
  • Experience:
  • A minimum of Five (5) years experience in Automotive Repair, Shop operations, Commercial Equipment or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience as a Technical Inspector is required.

Working Conditions

  • Work in extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions.
  • Includes some industrial production environment conditions.

Physical Requirements

  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
  • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations.
  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
