About the Role

The Flight Operations Specialist will perform operational and administrative duties to facilitate an efficient and safe flow of air and ground maneuvers. This includes monitoring runways, taxiways, navigational, and meteorological aids, coordinating with maintenance sections, determining operational restrictions or hazards, and advising airfield management.

Key Responsibilities">
  • Regularly inspect operational conditions of airfield facilities and advise on necessary actions for repair and reopening.
  • Coordinate flight planning, training route utilization, and communication with military, international, and local agencies.
  • Assess damage to airfield property, identify flight safety issues, and monitor necessary actions to address them.
  • Determine operational restrictions or hazards to flight and communication facilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the flight operations coordinator or supervisor.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have strong computer skills, be able to operate various computer programs, and speak, read, and write English fluently. You should also maintain a valid driver's license and passport, satisfy CENTCOM MOD-17 medical requirements, and be able to gain authorized entry onto US military installations.

Preferred Qualifications

">
  • At least two years of experience as an airfield operations specialist.
  • Held the Flight Operations MOS in any branch of the military.
  • 2 years' experience in airfield operations performing those duties noted in the JD.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Graduate of a US military air traffic control school or FAA Academy.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to pass Class IV Army flight physical.
  • Ability to work night and day shift in austere environment.
