About the Role

The Network Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operation of automation systems, supervising shift supervisors, and ensuring situational awareness of all networks and systems under the responsibility of the NOC.

This role requires technical expertise in systems architecture and network design, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

The successful candidate will work closely with the NOC Chief/Watch Officer to provide high-level network performance and fault management, and will be responsible for resolving issues, tracking, and reporting progress through complete resolution.

This position also involves providing operational support to users within the AOR for managing, monitoring, and maintaining situational awareness of the networks and systems under NOC responsibility.

Responsibilities
  • Manage, monitor, and maintain situational awareness of all network and system entities under the responsibility of the NOC.
  • Serve as single point of contact for all communications needs and perform Enterprise services as required.
  • Attend and conduct regular meetings to keep all parties apprised of network and communications/data systems changes, improvements, and project progression as required.
  • Schedule and prioritize individual workload, and provide status of tasking to the NOC Chief Watch Officer as is required.
  • Focal point for reporting all incidents (disruptions or potential disruptions in service availability or quality) and user POC for Service Requests (routine requests for services).
Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must have at least 7 years of experience in the telecommunications sector and be able to work rotating shift schedules.

Candidates must also possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and meet DoD 8570.01 M requirements.

Baseline certifications cannot also be used as Computing Environment (CE) certification.

Authorized certifications for this job title are listed below:

  • IAT Level: IAT II
  • Baseline Certifications: Cisco CCNA, CompTIA A+ CE, GIAC GCED, ISACA CISA
  • Computing Environment (CE): Microsoft 365 Certified Enterprise Administrator Expert, VMware VCAP
