Job Description: Cybersecurity Threat Mitigator
We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Threat Mitigator to join our team. This role will be responsible for identifying and mitigating potential cybersecurity threats to protect our company's assets.
Responsibilities:
- Vulnerability Management: Identify and remediate vulnerabilities within existing security systems to prevent potential breaches.
- Security Measures Development: Develop and implement organization-wide security measures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our data.
- Incident Response: Document known security breaches and vulnerabilities, and develop incident response plans to mitigate the impact of potential threats.
- Compliance and Governance: Maintain security policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks and industry standards.
- Threat Analysis: Monitor and analyze security events and incidents to identify and respond to potential threats promptly.
- Penetration Testing: Perform penetration tests to assess potential security problems and identify areas for improvement.
- Cybersecurity Partnerships: Establish strong relationships with external cybersecurity partners, vendors, and service providers to ensure effective collaboration and support when needed.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain documentation and reports related to cybersecurity incidents, actions taken, and any necessary compliance requirements.
- Configuration Reviews: Perform configuration reviews for various security systems like firewalls, EDR, etc., to ensure they are properly configured to prevent potential threats.
- Change Management: Participate in the change management process to ensure that all changes to security systems or processes are properly assessed and implemented.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience: 3 to 4 years of experience in an IT security role.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills are crucial for interacting and collaborating with team members and stakeholders effectively at all levels.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and debugging skills are necessary for identifying root causes of issues and implementing effective solutions.
- Time Management: Effective time management and organizational skills are necessary to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and align solution deliverables with the organization's goals and objectives.
Technical Skills:
- Network Architecture: Understanding of network architecture, including knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Operating System Security: Proficiency in securing various operating systems like Windows, Linux, and macOS.
- Vulnerability Exploitation: Skills in identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities in systems to improve security measures.
- Programming Languages: Familiarity with languages such as Python, C++, Java, and scripting languages like PowerShell.
- Data Encryption: Knowledge of how to implement and manage encryption to protect data.
- Security Software Configuration: Proficiency in configuring and managing security software, including anti-virus and anti-malware programs.
- Cyber Operations: Knowledge of cyber operations and strategies to defend against cyber threats.
Salary:
$115,000 - $140,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
