Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Postal Operations Specialist to join our team at Vectrus. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for overseeing the movement, sorting, and distribution of mail for our LOGCAP program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the movement, sorting, and distribution of mail for LOGCAP
  • Issue money orders and sell postage stamps
  • Perform detailed accounting duties in accordance with standard accounting procedures
  • Verify mail pieces on incoming mail manifests and prepare outgoing mail manifests
  • Separate accountable mail from ordinary mail and perform random X-ray inspections of mailbags and parcels
  • Open worker mailbags and letter trays, and sort mail by authorized APOs or assigned units
  • Conduct unit mail calls and provide customer assistance to unit mail clerks
  • Perform directory service functions and use SPRINT and CAMALS charts to forward mail to appropriate locations
  • Manage postal supplies, inventory, ordering, and receiving for assigned postal facilities
  • Retrieve outgoing mail from USPS mail drop-boxes and date stamp and consolidate mail in letter trays or flat baskets for dispatch
  • Operate or learn to operate Retail System Software to provide postal finance services to authorized patrons
  • Provide customer services to authorized patrons, explaining available postal services
  • Perform parcel inspection functions and inspect patron's parcels/letters prior to entering the postal system
  • Close out procedures of pouching and tagging all outgoing mailbags and OSP for dispatch to assorted APO camps, U.S., European, or intra-theater gateways
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid Passport OCN Requirements/Qualifications: Home Country valid driver's license is preferred to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's License
  • Must be able to obtain Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) for all places of residence for the past seven years
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain USG Installation access card
  • Experience in military postal, USPS training, commercial cargo shipping, parcel handling/warehousing, and/or mail room distribution training is preferred
  • Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of all postal procedures and techniques used by postal personnel in operation of Army and base post offices
Working Conditions

Work is generally conducted in the out-of-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions/ambient temperatures. Work will require lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.

Physical Requirements

Heavy work. May require lifting in excess of 100 lbs., stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
