We are seeking a skilled General Maintenance Technician to join our team at American International University in Kuwait City.

The ideal candidate will have proficiency in working with various types of wood, including Plywood, MDF, and Regular Wood, as well as experience with repair work and installation of doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures.

• Conducting repair work and installation of doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures as required.
• Assessing the quality of woodwork and materials.
• Painting walls and polishing/painting of wooden furniture and features.
• Installing wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists, and stud work.
• Designing and installing cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall, and insulation.
• Adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges, and closures.
• Shaping or cutting materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
• FOLLOWING established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
• Building or repairing cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools.
• Assembling and fastening materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
• Removing damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools.
• Inspecting ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures.
• Moving necessary materials around jobsite as assigned.
• Ability to comprehend schematic diagrams, blueprints, sketches, building plans and other specifications.
