Job Description

This role involves inspecting and overseeing communication projects on military and contracting installations. The successful candidate will work under the general guidance of the IT Technical Inspector, Sr., to ensure compliance with technical standards and specifications.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in communication installation, including experience with fiber optic and copper cable installation. They should also be knowledgeable about cabling diagrams, manholes, hand holes, and ducting systems. Additionally, certification by an accredited organization and/or equipment manufacturer at the journeyman level is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:
  • Inspecting and overseeing communication projects
  • Operating test equipment for quality inspection
  • Working with supervisors, engineers, and operations teams on all projects
  • Ensuring all site survey documentation is on file and drawings are updated for each project
  • Freehand sketching of designs and tracing finished drawings onto designated paper for reproduction
  • Utilizing AutoCAD and communicating detailed drawings and designs when required

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should possess the following requirements:
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma
  • Experience in communication installation, preferably with a Telecommunication Degree
  • Working knowledge of fiber optic and copper cable installation
  • Knowledgeable about cabling diagrams, manholes, hand holes, and ducting systems
  • Certification by an accredited organization and/or equipment manufacturer at the journeyman level (desirable)
