Job Description:

The Vice President for Academic Affairs will serve as a senior leader in the Division of Academic Affairs, overseeing initiatives that positively impact student success, retention, and timely graduation. Key responsibilities include supervising academic advising, support services, and remedial programs; serving as conduct officer for academic policy violations; and developing operational processes and academic development programs.

  • Serve as conduct officer in cases involving alleged violations of academic policies, including the Student Code of Conduct and Academic Honesty Policy.
  • Lead planning and development of operations processes and evaluation of academic development programs.
  • Collaborate with University departments to enhance academic readiness for all students.
  • Implement academic intervention programs with Student Life to identify and enhance student success chances.
  • Develop and administer program budgets, including forecasting funds for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Provide training and development initiatives for staff to ensure effective contributions to student success.
  • Maintain accurate records and develop reports as required for retention purposes.
  • Coordinate transition programs for new, transfer, and graduate students.
  • Develop and maintain policy and procedure manuals related to unit programs and services.
  • Assist in identifying, implementing, and evaluating technology programs to enhance department operations.

Experience and Education:

Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution, PhD preferred. Significant work experience in Academic Affairs, at least 5 years, with 3-5 years of supervisory experience and expertise in program development, assessment, and designing academic systems supporting student learning and persistence.
