Government Affairs Specialist

The role involves developing and executing strategies to build trust with government entities, policymakers, and regulatory bodies.

  • Create a countrywide government affairs strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key government stakeholders at various levels.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, providing actionable insights to internal teams.
  • Advocate for policies that foster innovation while mitigating risks to operations.
  • Collaborate with legal, communications, and business teams to align government outreach with company goals.
  • Represent the organization in industry associations, public forums, and policy dialogues.
  • Proactively address potential regulatory challenges and crisis scenarios.
  • Support the growth of cross-functional teams by providing regulatory guidance in early-stage initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in government affairs, public policy, or regulatory roles, preferably in tech, telecom, or digital services.
  • In-depth understanding of countrywide political dynamics and legislative processes.
  • Established network with government institutions and policymakers.
  • Strong analytical skills to translate complex regulations into business impacts.
  • Proven ability to work independently in unstructured environments.
  • Exceptional communication skills in English; fluency in other languages is a plus.
  • An advanced degree in Public Policy, Law, Political Science, or a related field is preferred.

  • Experience scaling government relations functions in a high-growth organization.
  • Background in startups or fast-moving industries (e.g., fintech, e-commerce).
  • Knowledge of digital economy regulations, data privacy, or emerging tech policy.
