Mail Handler

The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee the movement, sorting, and distribution of mail for LOGCAP.

This involves safeguarding all mail, loading/unloading mail trucks, processing Pro-grade and Retro-grade mail at APOs and JMMT, verifying mail pieces on incoming mail manifest, preparing outgoing mail manifest, separating accountable mail from ordinary mail, and conducting random X-ray inspections of selected mailbags and parcels.

Additional duties include opening worker mailbags and letter trays, sorting mail by authorized APOs or assigned units, conducting unit mail calls, distributing incoming mail to authorized unit mail clerks, and ensuring unit mail clerks sign for custody of service mail.

The ideal candidate will have basic computer skills, knowledge of all postal procedures and techniques, and the ability to organize, control, coordinate, and supervise technical operations of a postal unit.
