Job Details:

This role requires an experienced electrical engineer who can lead the design of electrical systems for various projects.

  • Responsibilities include assisting on-site electrical engineers, evaluating proposals from sub-consultants, conducting site surveys, checking existing site electrical utilities, coordinating with team members, developing a thorough understanding of client design requirements, documenting, recording and reporting on meetings, progress of jobs and construction completion, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures and latest standards, applicable codes and regulations, preparing accurate design calculations and documents, ensuring that electronic components and materials specified for electrical designs are relevant and comply with statutory requirements, ensuring the bill of quantity (BoQ) document for the electric design is prepared and coordinated with quantity survey department in compiling contract documents, evaluating or preparing electrical load calculation requirements based on the power consumption of all electro-mechanical systems, meeting manufactures/suppliers of electrical components and materials, maintaining continuous quality control on all drawings produced under the section, preparing data collection report, concept design report, preliminary and detailed design reports & related documents, preparing design sketches for modelers/draftsmen, remaining abreast on changes in local ministerial requirements regarding electric systems, remaining abreast with scientific advancements in electrical materials, components and developments in codes of practice, supporting the Associate Director and Lead Engineer in providing inputs to the proposals department.

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of experience in Electrical Design and Site Supervision from a construction field out of which at least 5 year of design experience.
  • At least 5 years' experience of managing teams efficiently in a similar environment and on multiple projects.
  • Work experience in Middle East, Desired (preferably in Kuwait).
  • Experienced in providing project presentations to client and authorities with confidence.
  • Previous experience shall include design of Electrical Systems for Mega Projects of different categories such as mixed-use development, educational buildings, Health Care, Hotel, Sport Facilities, Neighborhoods, High Rise buildings, industrial buildings etc.
  • Previous experience in value engineering, sustainability design related to Electrical Systems.
  • Experience in handling multiple projects simultaneously in a similar environment.
  • Full awareness of Local and International codes / guidelines related to Electrical.
  • Knowledge of local ministerial regulations and standards.
  • Working knowledge of electrical design software (e.g., DIALUX, ETAP).
  • Working knowledge of CAD / REVIT software.
  • Good knowledge in handling international project with exposure to international codes and standards.
  • Good knowledge to prepare BoQ and budget for the project.
