Vulnerability Security Specialist

The Vulnerability Analyst will be responsible for scanning, analyzing, and reporting on the compliance of systems and network infrastructure at a regional and theater level.
This role aims to protect and defend information and information systems by ensuring confidentiality, integrity with non-repudiation, authentication, and availability.
The incumbent will report to the RCC-SWA Cybersecurity Manager and is expected to provide feedback to customers on weekly vulnerability scans.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning, coordinating, reviewing, analyzing, and providing feedback to customers on weekly vulnerability scans.
- Surveying network diagrams and other artifacts, utilizing network visualization tools, and assisting in determining if vulnerability scans are being conducted on all network assets.
- Preparing and assisting in the preparation of vulnerability scanning reports to commanders and high headquarters.
- Liaising with IAVM manager and IAPM regarding vulnerability and remediation issues.
- Developing plans and recommending tools for the vulnerability scanning of all Tier II network assets, regardless of type.
- Monitoring INFOCON status and maintaining awareness of all INFOCON requirements.
- Assessing current architecture and computer assets for INFOCON compliance.
- Developing reporting mechanisms for current INFOCON requirements and compliance of all subordinate elements and customer equipment on all networks.
- Generating and updating reports for all areas of responsibility, interacting with Host Based Security System (HBSS) administrators to leverage INFOCON enforcement and compliance capabilities.
- Serving as HBSS administrator for SWACC and serving as web developer, as required, for reporting tools.
- Reviewing IAVA report and coordinating with all subordinate elements to remediate accordingly.
- Providing updated Patch for remediation and Firmware updates based on vendor distribution.
- Performing other duties and assignments as required.
