We are seeking a skilled Barista to join our team at Abroad Work. As a key member of our café staff, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea.
The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills and be able to educate customers on our extensive drinks menu. Responsibilities include making recommendations based on customer preferences, up-selling special items, and taking orders while paying attention to details.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for providing exceptional customer service and quality products.
Key Responsibilities- Educating customers on our drinks menu
- Making recommendations based on customer preferences
- Up-selling special items
- Taking orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)
- Preparing beverages following recipes
- Receiving and processing payments
- Keeping the bar area clean
- Maintaining stock of clean mugs and plates
- Checking if brewing equipment operates properly and reporting any maintenance needs
