We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team in Kuwait. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering design, project management, and leadership.

As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and monitoring all mechanical engineering activities for internal projects at Kuwait Steel. You will ensure that mechanical engineering project design is carried out within the project's scope of work and project parameters for schedule, cost, and quality. This includes managing all aspects of mechanical engineering design within the Projects and Engineering and Facilities Management Department.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate internal project requests from Kuwait Steel clients to determine the scope of work, feasibility, and resource requirements.
  • Develop conceptual and detailed mechanical engineering designs for requested projects, considering functionality, safety, and compliance with regulations.
  • Specify the materials, equipment, and components required for the project implementation, considering factors such as quality, durability, and compatibility with existing systems.
  • Manage the RFQ project phase for all mechanical engineering projects as per the P&E and FM Department policies.
  • Conduct technical adjudication and discount requests from contractors for mechanical engineering projects.

To succeed in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering and at least 10-15 years of experience in heavy industry mechanical engineering design and project engineering. Additionally, you should possess competence in developing mechanical engineering and piping engineering technical scope of work for industrial projects. Experience in the GCC region is desirable but not essential.

You must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 10-15 years of experience in heavy industry mechanical engineering design and project engineering
  • Competence in developing mechanical engineering and piping engineering technical scope of work for industrial projects
