Senior Safety Coordinator Job Description

The Senior Safety Coordinator is a critical role responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive safety programs that comply with local, state, and federal regulations.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Safety Program Development: Develop tailored safety programs for specific project needs.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Training and Employee Engagement: Provide training sessions on safety practices, emergency response procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Incident Investigation and Reporting: Investigate accidents or incidents on-site to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Record Keeping and Compliance: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and compliance reports.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a health and safety role within the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant health & safety legislation.
  • Proven ability to conduct risk assessments and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse teams.
