Overview

This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP. Under the supervision of the Emergency Dispatcher Lead, the Emergency Dispatcher primarily functions as a call-taker telecommunicator. Responsibilities include receiving, recording, and managing requests for Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services responses, providing medical pre-arrival instructions, dispatching emergency personnel, and verifying assignment locations if necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a call-taker telecommunicator, managing requests for Fire and Emergency Services responses.
  • Dispatch emergency personnel to critical response situations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; one-year related experience may substitute for education.
  • Must be CAC eligible or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret Clearance.
  • Optional certifications include IFSAC or Proboard Hazmat Materials Awareness and Telecommunicator I-II.
  • CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Willing to obtain Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) Certification within 30 days of hire.
Experience
  • Minimum one (1) year experience as a Police, Fire, or EMS Dispatcher.
Skills
  • Clear communication via radio and telephone.
  • Accurate recording, transmitting, and reporting of information.
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Typing speed of at least 35 words per minute.
Working Conditions
  • Subject to extreme heat (>100°F), noise, and hazards such as moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, and chemicals.
Physical Requirements
  • Light work involving exertion up to 20 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently.
